Our Story

UHOTANI Savings and Credit Society Ltd was registered in June 2023 by a group of staff from Ol Joro Foods (MADELINA FARM) and CAPYEI. The name UHOTANI is coined from the Kikuyu language to mean victory. It was formed mainly to promote personal development and growth among members and accumulate savings to achieve planned activities.

The SACCO, subject to the Cooperative Societies Act, has started and will continue to extend loans for provident and productive purposes, doing so at fair and reasonable rates of interest. In order to achieve a solid base for growth, we opened membership to other organized self-help groups and organizations. Among the first organizations to be admitted, include KAMUSUMARI SELF HELP, UVUMUSO WOMEN GROUP, KWIRORERA SELF HELP and MUHINGA SELF HELP groups consecutively in the formative years.
